Group Project

I am blogging about our revivision project we did as a group. I enjoyed working on the project with others. If I could change something about it, I would give us more time to work on the project. I also wish it had been explained a little better. The idea of the group project was a good idea.

Proposal Essay

For my essay I wrote about concussions in football. This was an easy topic that related to many people I know. I am trying to persuade people that there needs to be more rules implemented in all ages of football to limit the number of concussions. My audience is does not believe anything should be done to change the game. My thesis is I believe that something needs to be changed before more players are seriously affected from the post-concussion affects. 

BP Oil Spill

The closing of the well does prevent any more oil to leak into the gulf but it has definatly made its mark. I think the fact the oil leaked is a huge mistake by BP but the bigger mistake is that it took 5 months finally stop the problem. They should have plans for these types of issues. The response should be much quicker. Eventually the problem will be fixed but to put the gulf through another huge tragedy like this one is terrible. the spill does not affect me because I do not know anyone from that area and I do not consume seafood. It still hurts me to see the people who went through Hurricance Katrina to get hurt again. Hopefully the clean up is quick and effective.

Peer Review

I enjoyed the peer reviews in class. I believe the critism's of each paper were very helpful to not only my work but others as well. I know from my paper there were a few things that needed to be worked out. Also the person I reads paper was not exactly on topic so I believe I helped them out to hopefully not a only get a better grade but have an all around better paper. I would for sure like to have peer reviews again.

If I were to day today.

If I were to die today, I think I would have made a minimal impact to the billions of people in the world. I haven't invented or wrote anything that will touch millions of people. But to me it's not about the people you don't know, its about the people who care about you and the ones who are in contact with you each and every day. They are the people I hope to have the biggest impact on, and if i died today i believe i have impacted them greatly.

Have you ever thought of what it would be like to be the opposite for a day?

I have wondered what it would be like to be a girl. There are so many different challenges they face each and every day. I'm sure the number of dilemmas that they deal with are the same but the dilemma itself is far different. Growing up as a guy you learn how to deal with many different situations. I'm sure as a girl you learn the same. Though it would be intresting to face some of their issues.

Hillary Clinton

I was very interested in this piece. It was fascinating to read about where she grew up and also the time in when she grew up. I also enjoyed when everytime she was told she couldn't accomplish something she either used it as motavation or just ignored it. Her hard work and persistance has continued throughout her life and has got her a prestigous job in the White House.

Me Talk Pretty One Day

I believe the teacher is far to harsh to her students. They are only learning French, there is no reason for her to be so mean to her students. I do not believe her method of teaching is right. You should want the students to come to class and learn a new language and not be afraid of being ridiculed. It is hard enough for a student to just learn and speak a whole new language. They shouldn't have to worry about being made fun of because they can't pronounce a word right.

Autobiography

Hey I am Tim Segich from Swedesboro, NJ. I am a freshman at the University of South Dakota. I play wide receiver for the Coyote football team. I enjoy sports, video games and just having a good time.
